Hailing from Chicago, Lunar Ticks aim to barrel through stylistic boundaries by recreating and expanding on roots music (rock, jazz, punk, country, funk, soul, world, etc.), with a DIY ethic and a jovial attitude. Each show is a unique experience with diverse originals and covers, crowd interaction, and exploratory improvisation. The band and the audience play off each other, creating something that’s never happened before, and never will again.
Goose Corp.is a four piece psychedelic rock-jam band out of Chicago. Blending a number of influences rooted in folk, blues, and dance/electronica, Goose Corp. weaves a tapestry of musical emotion upon a bedrock of rich harmonic colloquialisms.
Formed in 2014 by original members Phil Sciurba, Andrew “Goose” Giese, and Matt Schirk, Goose Corp. has evolved into a songwriting powerhouse as heard in their most recent release, “Jumbled Thoughts”. Keyboardist Ryan Flynn was asked to sit in on the album’s recording process, and the band invited him to play with them full-time shortly after.
Fresh off their sold-out album release show at Schubas Tavern, Goose Corp. continues to spread its wings booking shows with fellow local up-and-coming artists. The band has also begun focusing on writing new material, beginning to develop their sophomore album.
“Jumbled Thoughts” is available on all major streaming platforms and CD via Bandcamp. Be sure to check out Goose Corp. on social media for upcoming shows, releases, and all things musical.
— It’s a thing.
Cosmic Americana is the best way to describe the jangly and ambient atmosphere of Railway Gamblers. Originating on the Southside of Chicago in March 2014, the group has strayed from the local norm of solely focusing on covering iconic artists and, instead, devoted their time to crafting their own resonant and original sound.
Brendan Folliard (singer, primary songwriter, rhythm guitar, harmonica, piano), Matt Fricks (lead guitar), Sean Wilmsen (drums), and Dan Kane (bass) make up the core of the group. With the guidance and expertise of top-tier recording engineers (Mike Hagler and Greg Calbi), their four studio albums have received high praise from their United States fan bases and have also commanded the attention of international music media outlets. This has led to a consistently-increasing level of recognition and many sold-out shows across the Midwest.
From their influences rooted folk music to their incorporation of modern rock and roll, Railway Gamblers continue to generate a sound that may be difficult to identify as one solitary genre; but it’s one that is palatable, engaging, and honest.
