While Spirit Adrift made many take notice with their debut album “Chained To Oblivion”, it is on “Curse Of Conception” their stellar second album, and first with new label 20 Buck Spin, that the band has taken a giant leap forward in songwriting prowess, production and confidence. From the Metallica /Priest like opening moments of ‘Earthbound’ to the epic closing of “Onward, Inward”, Spirit Adrift are aiming sky high with burning focus and peak vigor.
Driven by heavy, down-tuned guitar riffs and melodic vocal harmonies, Jess Ambriz and Jon Slusher bring you a haunting variation of doom and slow core, conveying darkness and light with heavy guitars and voice. Drummer Quinn Curren and bass player Alan Strathmann fill out this dystopian beauty that will have your ears ringing and your head humming.
Ikaray is a four piece post-metal, sludge band from Chicago. Blending feelings of grief and visceral indignation they vary from punishing to melodic tones. Their unrelentling ambience is the background to their narrative of dread and opposition to the political establishment.
Following the 2016 release of their self-titled EP, which painted landscapes of sadness with peaks of harsh, raw energy, Ikaray has finished recording their new record.
In their upcoming 2019 release Ikaray has sought to embody both humanism and outage in expressing their disgust in capitalism, oppression and the ugliness that manifests itself in humanity.
Ikaray is Wesley Cowen (drums), James Flanigan (bass), Sam Peiffer (guitar) and Daniel Saller (guitar, vocals)
