Originally hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Aren Thompson is a jazz guitarist and recent transplant to Chicago that has led groups from duos to sextets with a focus on original composition and the communicative nature of jazz.

The Aren Thompson Quartet is a working jazz quartet that reimagines the traditional jazz repertoire — from the Great American songbook to the compositions of modern masters — in a modern context while paying constant homage to the origination of the music. This quartet will also be featuring original compositions from members of the band and from Aren’s recent album entitled From There to Now.
