Holy Joke burst onto the Chicago scene in 2023 with a dynamic live show that toggles between moments of twangy bombast and gentle whispers of pedal steel. Inspired by the alt-country greats of the 90s and 00s and modern indie artists, their songs are both thematically introspective and infectiously energetic. The band released their debut EP “No Way Home” in June to a sold out crowd at Chicago’s Golden Dagger.

Redbud is a band planting itself in the heart of the music fan with whimsical, psychedelic tones and meditative, soul-exposing lyrics. With a sound described by Austin’s favorite radio station KUTX as “a masterpiece of unearthly arrangements, airtight structures, and a caliber of songwriting we rarely hear from relative newcomers” you are sure to be swept up in the tide of their innovative style.

Shoulderbird blends Americana and indie rock into surprising, lyric-driven songs, interlaced with and tied together by improvisation and landscapes of sound. Rooted in the Chicago tradition of not only singer-songwriters but also free jazz, they sing about the everyday, doing dishes, black tshirts, bureaucracy, as well as the large arc of dreaming, distance, putting on a good face. Their music pulls heavily from the space and weight of Minnesota winters, the breath of a Midwestern summer.
