LSAF After Show: Haiku Hands w/ JILLIAN X, CQQCHIFRUIT

Based across Melbourne and Sydney, the core of Haiku Hands is Beatrice Lewis, Claire Nakazawa and Mie Nakazawa. Together, they curate, perform and work as a collective of artists, engaging and exploring social norms with their lyrical and visual content. Their influences range from hip-hop to pop, electronic to dance, and everything beyond.

East coast bred JILLIAN X is a house DJ based in Chicago, IL. Her style blends bangin’ beats with a touch of deep, tech and funky vibes. Jillian x has DJ’d dance parties throughout Chicago at Celeste, Emporium, Logan11, Maria’s, Cerise Rooftop, Arbella, Le Nocturne, Pennywhistle, Elastic Arts + more; and festivals My House Music Fest and House of Sol. Jillian x is resident DJ and co-founder of Stylin’ Out Network.

CQQCHIFRUIT (Jacquelyn Carmen Guerrero, she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent, originally from Miami, FL. They got their start as a DJ in 2013 playing with the Chances Dances collective in Chicago, along with their first exposures to house music and underground queer culture. Since then, they’ve performed in nightclubs, art galleries, museums, and festivals across Chicago, nationally, and internationally.
