$1 Beer Night is a weekly concert series that makes going out to hear great music more affordable.

Bernie & The Wolf are coming home from a 4 month, coast to coast tour to celebrate the release of their new album Haughty Banter. The Chicago indie rock duo are a melancholic wall of sound considerably greater than the sum of its parts.  Sultry vocals and dreamy but driving alt-rock guitar soundscapes float over a uniquely melodic and controlled chaos of drums. They’re not afraid to take risks with unconventional song structures, but always maintain a smart and tasteful songwriting sensibility. Most recently they’ve been compared to bands Land Of Talk, and Hop Along with some math rock influences.

Fauvely (faux-vlee) is the project of Chicago-based songwriter Sophie Brochu, who creates deeply personal dream-pop music. After completing her master’s in fiction writing and feeling frustrated with the constraints of her craft, Sophie turned to music for its raw and immediate release. Her debut EP, Watch Me Overcomplicate This, was recognized for its delicately introspective songs about self-doubt and longing.
With Dale Price, Scott Cortez, and Dave Piscotti on board, the band signed to Diversion Records in 2019 while their sound evolved into fuller, more carefully arranged soundscapes that have drawn comparisons to Mazzy Star, Mothers, and Cate Le Bon. Named after a poetry collection by Marie Howe, the group’s latest release, This is What The Living Do, was inspired by loss, rejection, years of waiting tables, and yearning to be seen in the strange age of oversharing. With its delicate swells and hushed grandeur, the album’s title track was called “perfect dream-pop” by The Chicago Reader

Modern Nun is a queer indie pop band from Chicago, Illinois. The band is fronted by Julianna McKenna and accompanied by Amanda Simmons on guitar and Haley Webster on drums. The band was formed in 2019 and released their first single “dirtball” in June of 2019. They plan on recording an EP in early 2020.
