$1 Beer Night is a weekly concert series that makes going out to hear great music more affordable.

GENTLE HEAT is a Chicago-based shoegaze project whose post-punk roots blend effortlessly into a dreamy pop. Noise, disunion, and transience are subtle textures in a broader sound that is beautifully moody and airy. Drawing on the dualism suggested by its name, Gentle Heat is simultaneously light and intense; creating a sonic space that is as comfortable with dissonance as it is with melody.

Louisville, KY’s avant-pop / post-punk / whatever-rock rookies of the year — Wombo. The excellent young trio of Sydney Chadwick (bass/vox), Cameron Lowe (guitar), and Joel Taylor (drums) follow in the footsteps of futuristic garage-funk greats with a lovably kool wit, while somehow managing to be sincerely, effortlessly, and unforgivingly themselves.

Sad Baxter:

Heavy pop sludge in Nashville, TN brought to you by a pair o best friends that bicker like people who have been around each other for far too long holy heck.

Chicago has a brand new band – Sunblood,  an explosive post-punk and psych-rock 4-piece readying the release of their first 9 song album later this year.
Steeped in influences from The Stooges and The Pixies, to something like early Tame Impala and The Flaming Lips, Sunblood take the rock tradition of the last 6 decades, blow it up, and put it back together again.
