Dendrons formed in Chicago, Illinois on New Years Day 2018.
They are finishing their second full length Lap “[email protected] written and recorded, at Sonic Ranch near El Paso TX working alongside engineer/producers Sonny DiPerri (Protomartyr, DIIV, Nine Inch Nails, Emma Ruth Rundle) and frequent collaborator, Tony Brant,
Their mix of post-punk and blender pop has been built over a decade through every members’ experience with various projects across the country.
At times, the music seems a juxtaposition: ballistic, suffocating, pummeling, sweetness. Hints of sugar and quiet laced with drawn out instrumental freak outs and vocal hooks. A joyful racket that pulses throughout their debut self-titled LP, the culmination of a fevered two-week recording session in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dendrons’ momentum is the product of a distinctly DIY spirit—self-booked tours, hand-crafted flyers, and a milieu of self-produced EPs—allowing for more thorough collaborations on their first full length record, being released by record label Earth Libraries (Birmingham, US).
The band has toured extensively throughout US + CAN+ MEX, and recently finished their first tour since pandemic began, a few months ago.
Soft and Dumb is an indie rock duo from Urbana, Illinois. Splaying dissonant chords against pop melodies in odd time signatures, the duo explores gendered expectations, disembodiment, tenderness, and hardness. In preparation for their upcoming album, the duo consistently polishes their unreleased songs—and Mitski covers—in the vibrant Urbana house show scene. Soft and Dumb is Elena Buenrostro (guitar) and Travis Newgren (drums).
LLO LLO (pronounced yo-yo like in Spanish) is a power pop band consisting of Dominic Folino, Shane Morris, Johnny Cummings, and Grant Goode. Formed in 2021, these post pandemic sludge rockers hit the ground running playing shows around Chicago and Urbana-Champaign.
