Glad Rags returns to Sleeping Village after the release of their debut LP ‘ALL OF THEM’. The six core members write and arrange collaboratively to create an original blend of art rock, disco, new wave, experimental jazz, and psych pop. The concept album was released via Sinkhole Sounds in October, a local label started by the band that showcases queer and gender non-conforming artists. This will be their last Chicago show as they announce end of winter tour dates along with sharing new music videos off the LP.

GAC is the solo project of the Mexican/American artist George Arthur Calendar. Songwriting started in the fall of 2015 in NorCal and heading out for a couple of months to New Zealand, where he started to play at diy shows, bars, open mics, house parties and everywhere he was invited. GAC produces, mixes and records almost all of his songs in his home studio in Chicago, IL.

He has played for the last 4 years with WAVY ID, which connected him with the art/music scene in Chicago including working with likes of Dan Rico, Alex Brettin, Claude, Will Wood (Power Pup, Vamos) and establishing himself as a solid multi-instrumentalist as seen in short-lived duo collab Fancy Macho.

GAC mixes sounds from funk to synth pop with very poetic and romantic lyrics, using Spanglish as his form of art to communicate what and how he feels about life, love and experiences .

“GAC plays some of the most suave and velvety narco synth pop/soul/funk north of Tijuana. A playful dealer, lover, man about town with the soul of a child, he will gently rock your hammock like the summer breeze, refreshing as the cocktail you are sipping on. A man of principle who knows all is fair in love and war” – Chicago Reader

Under the moniker DJ_LT, multifaceted redhead Lauren Tussey (lovingly known as LT) consistently delivers adventurous new sounds to the ears of humble listeners near and far. She officially made her public debut in 2018, but has been tapping her inner rhythmic instincts since her time spent in utero, thanks to her mother’s exquisite genre-spanning tastes. As a teen, she began to curate and burn her own mix CDs to fill the sacred alone time spent driving back and forth from school in Omaha, Nebraska. Her mixes soon became widely requested by friends and fans alike. In college, she single-handedly saved the soundtrack of countless events and parties by fearlessly stepping up to the DJ plate when no one else dared to. One could say her enigmatic persona has been regarded ever since.

Now, laser-focused on sharpening her technical capabilities, DJ_LT has performed virtual and in-person sets at various spots across Chicago, including Coles, Reunion, Town Hall Pub, and Burlington Bar. Oft-played genres include: R&B, Oldies, Disco, Hip-Hop, House, Rap, Lo-Fi, Indie, Electronic, and a helluva lot more than that. DJ_LT would like her audiences to know that she does not allow the mere language of musical categorizations to deter or limit her work in any way—rather, she lives her life in a constant pursuit of highly infectious rhythms, earth-shattering bass lines, and bouncing sticky melodies. Her dream reality? Spending every waking moment gleaning the interwebs for flavorful bops, and then sharing them with the humans she loves most.
