Until We Meet Again
w/ Bridey, Safekeeping
Modern Vices is noir in tone and dripping with wild romanticism, there’s an aching passion and sincerity in the crooning that is juxtaposed by the fuzzy grit of guitars and a bright, pulsing beat. While their self described dirty doo-wop sound is an abstraction of 50’s inspired pop and post punk, their most recent LP, “If Only,” and subsequent singles sees them moving into a more stylized direction, driven by bright guitar and darker, new wave elements. The sound is at once fierce and unpredictable yet there’s a tenderness that makes it all the more compelling.
Bridey is a singer/songwriter based out of Chicago, Illinois. When Bridey plays alone on stage, her electric guitar and passionate lyrics guide crowds in the proper way to sway. When backed by current bandmates Cam Mahai, Jason Ouimette, and Alex Collyard–Bridey’s distinctly spirited sound captivates the room. Whether it be the songs that focus on her alluring vocals or the songs that encapsulate the complete band, Bridey’s versatile discography doubles as a soundtrack to potential crying sessions, make-out sessions, and/or moshing sessions.
Safekeeping is the project of Kaylee Lynch and Leo D’Ambrosio based in Chicago IL. It is a cumulation of our influences that both relaxes and inspires.
