Introduced in early 2020, Troigo is the frenetic, multi-dimensional world of 31-year-old David Arias. Hailing from the Chicago suburbs, Arias is perhaps best known as the guitarist in DIY post-rock band Avantist, which he formed with his three brothers over ten years ago. Born into a musical family – his father was in a Mariachi band, and Mexican legends like Café Tacvba were a mainstay in his home throughout his childhood – Arias has long expressed himself through sound and song. Inspired by bands such as Phoenix, The Strokes, and St. Vincent, Troigo finds himself finally taking a brave step forward and showing what he’s capable of on his own.

Intimate and raw, Troigo’s music is a journey through the depths of an open mind and a stirring heart – but what David Arias wants you to remember most about his artistry is its angularity: “When I hear that name, it sounds like choppy guitars and heavy bass lines,” the artist behind Troigo says with a smile. “You know you’re going to get something quality, something weird, with blaring guitars and crazy beats. It makes me want to go into the future.
